In October 2020, The Croydon-based AR Food Project, led by Stefan Jones, set out on a mission, to help feed London's homeless. The project has grown exponentially since then, feeding over 12,000 hot meals to the less fortunate.
At first, Stefan and his team walked the streets of West London, wearing their signature gold hoodies and unfaltering determination, offering food to any rough sleeper they passed.
It's been almost a year since Stefan and his team took those first steps in the service of others. AR Food project now arrives every Sunday without fail outside of Charing Cross police station at 6.30 pm. Their service inventory has also grown to include toiletry, clothes and hot drinks not to mention AR International.
Stefan's home Mosque, the Croydon Islamic Community Trust, has agreed to allow the AR food project a base for their Croydon food distribution. Since opening in 2009, Croydon Islamic Community Trust (ICT) has been a place of spiritual worship for the local community. Stefan and his team will set up every Tuesday from 7.30 until 8.30 pm offering, hot meals, hot and cold drinks, snacks and other essentials to ease the burden of Croydon homeless and vulnerable.
We at AR food project would like to extend our gratitude on behalf of ourselves and those we help to the Islamic Community Trust, which you can find at 89 London Rd, Croydon CR0 2RF, http://www.croydonict.com
