AR UGANDAN DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

SUPPORTING THE WORLD IN BUILDING STRONGER COMMUNITIES

As we approach the holy month of Ramadan, our hearts are filled with joy and a deep sense of gratitude for all that we have.

At AR Rihla Projects, we have the privilege of serving ALLAH in providing our services to communities and make a difference in people's lives.

Story behind this project

In 2021, we built a masjid in Uganda, for the sake of Allah. This space accommodates up to 200 worshippers and provides a safe space for the community to come together and connect with one another.

Although the initial phase 1 was complete, laying the foundations and providing a safe space for worshippers to worship Allah.

We still needed to complete phase 2 which would make this a comfortable place of worship.

Phase 1 of this project serves as a reminder of the power of faith and unity. The community's unwavering commitment to their faith and to one another is a source of hope and inspiration for all those seeking to serve Allah and make a positive impact in their communities.

Join us in supporting the second phase completion of this masjid and be part of something truly special.

OUR VISIT

In March 2023, we set out on a journey to visit the masjid situated in the  rural village. As we drove closer to our destination, we couldn't help but notice the rough terrain and the challenging living conditions of the local community.

When we arrived at the masjid, we were awestruck by its beauty view from the hill the masjid was built on. However, it wasn't just the view that left a lasting impression on us. We were moved by the simple mud houses that our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters called home.

Seeing first-hand the challenges they faced every day gave us a deeper understanding of their struggles.

Our car got stuck on the rough terrain, and we had to continue our journey on foot. It was tough going, but the experience brought us even closer to the community we had come to visit.

In the end, the visit to the masjid gave us invaluable insight into how we can truly support the Ugandan community. It was an eye-opening experience that we will never forget.

OUR PLAN

We plan to build a community water pump as they have no access to clean water, as well as build a toilet facility as their present facilities are nothing more than a hole in the ground with two planks of wood across it.

Additionally, we would like to lay carpet as the concrete floor of the masjid is cracked and rough, making it difficult for worshippers to pray comfortably.

It's heartbreaking to see such a beautiful masjid not totally provide the community with the basic essentials needed to worship Allah.

We believe that we can make a difference. We're calling on your generosity to help us raise £3200 for this project. With your support, we can redecorate, lay new carpets, build toilets, and install a community water pump outside the masjid to make it a community.

Just think,

For £1200, we can provide access to clean water for a village that has no access to it for miles, this pump will invite the whole community to the masjid from all faiths with the hope to spread the message of Islam.

For £800, we can build toilets that will bring dignity and respect to our fellow Muslims, at present they are using a hole in the ground which isn't befitting for the Muslims as there is no water making it difficult to clean themselves and make Wudu.

For £600, we can lay new carpets that will make the masjid a comfortable and welcoming place to worship.

And for £600, we can redecorate the masjid, repair the roof and fit a separator for the sisters to worship Allah in peace without the worry of men watching them.

If we are able to raise enough money, we would also like to build a house for the Imam to stay on site. This would be game changing for the surrounding villages, giving them a consistent source of guidance, to deter robbers.

Once the community well has been built, this will be the main source of water for the surrounding villages, having an imam on site to oversee the well and spread dawah from it will be the key component to this community development project.

CURRENTLY

The images being presented show the current facilities that are being utilised. However, it's important to consider the difference that can be made if we all come together. By uniting our efforts towards a common goal, we can create a positive impact on the Ugandan community and the environment. Every individual has the power to make a difference.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to provide the Muslim community in Uganda with a complete and comfortable place of worship. We believe that everyone should have access to a safe and hygienic environment to worship, learn, and connect with one another. By building a community water borehole, toilets, and carpet in the masjid, we hope to create an environment that promotes wellness, inclusivity, and a sense of community. We aim to create a space that reflects the importance of worship in Islam and provides an environment that inspires and uplifts the spirits of all who come to pray.
